Chris Dakes (he/him) is committed to advancing the mission of higher education teaching and learning by leading and advocating for changes that explore the intersection of historical foundations, diverse contemporary needs, and visions of future possibilities. As the inaugural Director of the Center for Innovation in Engineering Education in the College of Engineering, his 20+ years of experience are brought to life by conducting and disseminating research on teaching and learning, creating and sustaining cross-disciplinary courses and programs, and leading organizational change initiatives. His private sector engineering and consulting work integrate with his higher ed work to bring a strong blend of real-world perspectives and personal passion into effective learning design and curriculum development.
