The Institutional Review Boards Office is responsible for protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects in research conducted by faculty, staff, and students affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This includes research on teaching that involves students at any level, which often falls under the purview of the Minimal Risk Research IRB. This board reviews research protocols that present minimal risk to subjects.

Examples of student focused institutional data that may be helpful with your scholarly teaching include:

  • Enrollment trends
  • Course-level learning analytics
