Institutional Review Board (IRB) at UW-Madison
The Institutional Review Boards Office is responsible for protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects in research conducted by faculty, staff, and students affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This includes research on teaching that involves students at any level, which often falls under the purview of the Minimal Risk Research IRB. This board reviews research protocols that present minimal risk to subjects.

Data Governance at UW Madison
Data governance ensures that people can trust and use data responsibly and effectively. UW-Madison’s Institutional Data Policy explains minimum requirements for managing institutional data and defines appropriate roles and responsibilities when using and accessing institutional data.
Examples of student focused institutional data that may be helpful with your scholarly teaching include:
