Thanks to the generosity of Keith and Jane Morgan Nosbusch, three College of Engineering faculty were named in 2022 as the inaugural Nosbusch Professors in Engineering Education. The CIEE partners with the Professors to develop and execute educational research projects and disseminate findings to inform future practice. The Professors are also instrumental in advising Center leadership and being advocates for teaching and learning innovations across the College of Engineering.
Associate Professor Andrea Hicks, Civil and Environmental Engineering
Focus: Sustainability and Ethics Education
Hicks works at the intersection of engineering education and both sustainability and ethics. In particular, how to make these educational experiences more meaningful and impactful for students through the use of community and project based learning.
Professor Giri Venkataramanan, Electrical and Computer Engineering
Focus: Experiential Learning and Design-Oriented Analysis
Giri provides tactile learning experiences that build upon students' intuition and enables them to elaborate their analytical skills for solving less-structured engineering design problems and instilling a 'can-do' mindset to face the challenges of rapidly evolving real world.
